THE NURAGHE AT PALMAVERA

The Nuraghe at Palmavera, dating back to the bronze age, is a fascinating example of a nuragic complex, consisting of two towers and surrounded by the ancient village.

NEPTUNE'S GROTTO

take the road signposted as ‘SS 127’ for Capo Caccia.

This marine grotto, carved out of the spectacular promontory of Capo Caccia, is the biggest natural attraction of the Alghero area and is visited every year by thousands of tourists attracted by its beauty.

By sea: departing from the harbour, sail along the wonderful Coral Riviera to the entrance of the grotto.

On land: on reaching Capo Caccia you will come to the Escala del Cabirol with its 656 steps, which leads to the entrance of the grotto.

ANGHELO RUJU NECROPOLIS

10 km, on the way to Porto Torres.

The Anghelu Ruju Necropolis is an ancient burial ground with 38 hypogea, dating back to the late Neolithic period (3000 BC). The pre-historic complex plays host to numerous Domus de Janas (tombs) and is one of the most important archaeological sites on the island of Sardinia.

along the road towards Porto Torres.

Sella & Mosca, founded in 1899, is today Sardinia’s leading wine producer. The winery boasts one of the largest vineyards in Europe and produces a wide range of excellent wines. With its spectacular vineyards and interesting museum, Sella & Mosca is certainly worth a visit. Guided tours with wine tasting are held Monday to Friday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm (in summer also on Saturdays).
